Using WinCT Balance Software Wedge if you own both a Sartorius and A&D Balance. Please note WinCT is shareware and was designed with A&D Balances and no technical support is offered in using the software with a Sartorius Balance. We are only highlighting how a person that purchased an A&D balance like the A&D GH-252 and using WinCT have also had succeeded using RSKey with their Sartorius Balance.

Some of our clients that own A&D and Sartorius Balances have successfully used A&D's shareware data communication software called WinCT using the RsKey program to import data from the balance into Excel or MS Word. To accomplish this go to www.balances.com/and/rskey.html and in the first paragraph is a link to "download WinCT".

Load WinCT on your PC.

use just the RSKey software.

Set the software to

Com Port 1 "typically 1 for RS-232, 3 or 4 for USB" but check your computer manual
Baud 1200
Parity odd
Length 7
Stop 1
Terminator CR/LF

and bingo data goes from your balance to your computer into MS Word, Excel or Access.

Remember you can always use HyperTerminal and this is the most basic data acquisition program and it is probably already loaded on your computer now.

Below are some example how you can configure RSKey to import the scale's data output into Microsoft Excel.

If you select All from the "Type" drop down box WinCT will import the weight on the scale along with the mass unit. In the above example "N" is for net weight, "+" for a positive weight, the weight "0.0840" and the mass unit is "ozt" for troy ounces.

If you select Numbers from the "Type" drop down box WinCT will import only the weight on the scale and ignores the mass unit. In the above example just 0.1505 is imported to the spreadsheet.
